I have dedicated my whole adult life to teaching English — and I am rather good at it! I can guarantee that your child will be in safe and capable hands.

I am Mum to three daughters and have first-hand knowledge of education both as a teacher and as a parent. I also have extensive professional and personal experience of SEND, alongside my expertise in English.

With my experience, I am able to address the range of challenges that can prevent students from achieving their true potential. I strive to make the material accessible and relevant to each student so that they gain confidence. Confident students make better progress.

I want your child to excel, and I believe the way to do that is to allow them to make mistakes without feeling embarrassed and to be unafraid to ask questions or accept guidance. I want students to feel that they can say, “I don't understand,” because that is often where the real learning begins.

As a GCSE examiner, I can provide invaluable insight into how exams are actually marked and give your child an accurate assessment of how they are performing against the marking criteria. This allows me to identify exactly where marks are being lost and, importantly, show students what they need to do to improve their grades.

I specialise in GCSE and A Level English Language and Literature, so my students can expect a very high standard of subject knowledge and exam expertise.

Finally, my teaching methods have been tried and tested over three decades. I am confident that I can adapt my teaching to the learning needs of any student. I foster excellent relationships with my students, and my greatest joy is seeing them succeed.
