I am an outstanding teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience in primary mainstream schools. I am currently teaching in upper key stage 2 ; I am recognised for raising excellent attainment in English, Maths and Reading. My teaching style is tailored to suit the needs of my pupils. My lessons begin with a mini review of previous lesson content to ensure that knowledge sticks in long term memory. Moreover, I introduce new content in small steps with worked examples. My students are guided through the examples before they begin independent work. The lesson ends with a short low stake quiz to check for understanding as well as follow up work to be completed for the following session. I use up to date material inline with the National curriculum; in addition to this, I can assist with any homework that has been set by the school. I always feedback to the parent about the successes of the lesson as well as next steps in order to secure learning or to challenge further. Since I always put the needs of the child at the forefront of everything that I do, I have been described as patient, knowledgeable and supportive by my colleagues, students and parents.
