Performing Arts tutors

1 UK tutor who teach Performing Arts.

Performing Arts as a vocational subject covers multi-discipline coursework that A-level Drama and Theatre Studies deliberately doesn't: Pearson's BTEC Nationals run with Acting, Dance and Musical Theatre pathways often combined within a single qualification, alongside UAL Awarding Body's Level 3 Diploma in Performing and Production Arts (genuinely common at FE colleges with creative specialisms). At KS4 the BTEC Tech Award is the standard vehicle. Trinity College London and LAMDA graded exams (Grades 1-8, UCAS tariff from Grade 6+) run in parallel and feed conservatoire applications. Tutoring helps most with the devised-piece coursework that BTEC structures around (Unit 3 typically), with audition pieces and monologue work for Trinity or LAMDA grades and university auditions, with the written units on practitioners (Brecht, Stanislavski, Berkoff, Frantic Assembly), and with conservatoire interview preparation. Creative is in the 2030 V Level wave, so the current qualification mix has several years to run. Look for tutors with practitioner credentials (working actors, dancers or directors) plus explicit BTEC or UAL teaching experience. Multi-discipline assessment is its own craft.
