About

I am currently working in a large secondary school in Manchester and have been a teacher of Geography for over 20 years and am therefore a very experienced educator. Due to the abrupt closure of another tutoring site, I have moved over to Tutorperch but have numerous 5* reviews which I will try to transfer over. I have been tutoring individual students on a one to one basis for around 10 years now at all levels (KS3-5). I make the sessions accessible, use differing teaching styles and techniques when necessary, and ensure that all content is understood thoroughly. Therefore, if you are struggling with concepts, ideas, application of Geography theory or aim to gain confidence, need a specific grade for university entrance or simply want to improve your exam performance, I would be more than happy to help.

As well as face to face teaching, I also offer lessons online which usually last an hour but I am flexible. Worksheets and exam questions can also be sent over during the sessions.

I teach/tutor Geography to A", AS, GCSE. IGCSE, KS3. Also have taught IB and MYP when working at an international school. As well as working in education for around 30 years, I am a current examiner for Geography for AQA but have been involved with Edexcel and CIE exam boards recently too. Consequently, I have much experience in this area, including inside knowledge as to how to answer exam questions effectively and accurately to gain maximum marks. Additionally, I am also up to date with current Geography specifications an how to achieve excellent coursework and NEA marks. My last cohort of students (2026) gained As and A* grades for their A level coursework across all boards.

I make the sessions accessible to each individual student depending on their needs, expectations and requirements. Each lesson is thoroughly planned and developed from the previous session. I am happy to mark work or exam questions in between sessions and give feedback. There is no pressure to do extra work but am happy to help in this area too if required.

I have qualifications in TEFL and Dyslexia and use these skills on a frequent basis when tutoring as I have a wide range of students, from Oxbridge applicants to SEND.

How we verify these

Each imported review went through admin review. The tutor proved ownership of the First Tutors profile via one of two paths:

  • Photo match. The First Tutors avatar matched the tutor's identity-verified Tutorperch photo, confirmed by admin.
  • Cryptographic email check. The tutor uploaded an original First Tutors email (.eml). We verified the DKIM signature against First Tutors' signing keys and cross-checked the embedded tutor ID against the claimed profile.

The review text is the original reviewer's own words, quoted as-is. We verified the tutor's ownership of the profile, not the truth of what each individual reviewer wrote.

Great Geography teacher. Solid on details. No nonsense. Really clear exposition of content and a great help with the exam technique. She is clear and demanding, and what is needed to get over the line for the exams. Would definitely recommend her to everyone else.

Zoe is an excellent tutor, she is helping our daughter with A Level Geography and doing a fantastic job. She lacked confidence in several areas of the syllabus but Zoe explains everything in a simple and easy to understand way and it is making a big difference. We get prompt regular feedback on how things are going and how she did on her homework, which is always reviewed and marked in time for the next lesson. Zoe is very dependable never cancelling a lesson and always turning up on time, but accommodates any changes we need to make.

Zoe is an outstanding Geography teacher. She prepared my daughter for GCSEs with a perfect balance of strong subject knowledge, exam-focused teaching, and genuine encouragement. Every lesson was purposeful and well planned, and Zoe always made sure my daughter understood the content rather than just memorising it. My daughter has become far more confident and consistent, and she now approaches Geography with much more motivation. I can’t recommend Zoe highly enough. Any student would be lucky to have her support for GCSE Geography.

Zoe was really helpful in some late tutoring for A level geography, going through exam questions and helping with how to approach the questions and exam papers. My daughter found her to be approachable, very friendly, and familiar with the exam syllabus. Would highly recommend Zoe.
