About
I am a fully qualified secondary school teacher specialising in Science and Maths. I have extensive teaching and tutoring experience, in schools and online, in both mainstream teaching and special educational needs teaching. I have successfully taught and tutored pupils for 11 plus and 13 plus entrance exams, as well as for GCSE's in both Maths and all three Sciences, as well as Combined Science, and for A level Biology and Chemistry.
I have a detailed knowledge of all current syllabus for GCSE Sciences, Maths, (as well as Maths and Science IGCSE, Functional Skills, and BTEC), and all current A level Chemistry and Biology syllabus's. I use a combination of theory, exam practice questions, past paper questions, and workbooks in the lessons, to improve pupil confidence with exam technique, and focus on exam skills.
In addition, I adapt my teaching methods to support the pupils learning needs and help to identify areas of study in which they need help to improve. I also look at revision methods and planning revision timetables with pupils to help them find the option which works best for their learning needs.

She's brilliant at explaining the sciences and has a knack for breaking down tricky topics so they actually make sense. We've been really impressed by how organised and professional she is. She revises key points during the lesson to ensure understanding and is flexible in what is covered each week. This is very unfair feedback, the lesson was a free introductory lesson, the parent kept changing what they wanted the pupil to study in the lesson, both the subject, and teaching level. They missed the first introductory meeting organised, then changed the lesson days and times agreed in the original request. So this made it impossible to carry out any improvements in knowledge with the topic and subject constantly changing. I have tried to contact the parent to discuss the feedback, but they are not responding. I have also contacted the website administrator to look into this matter.

We approached Caroline late in March for a last minute GCSE help in physics and biology for my Y11 son. From the start Caroline was very efficient and professional explaining how she works, timing that she can do, considering we live in Dubai. My son said she is a fantastic science teacher. She explained the topics he was struggling with, did lots of practicals, went through many past papers and gave him advice on exam technique. I particularly liked that she sent me a feedback after every lesson. My son went to both science exams more confident and with no doubt he will get better grades than what he got in his mock exams. My 15yo daughter really enjoys her sessions with Caroline. Her confidence is up: she comes running to tell me she’s a “chemistry genius”! She needed some support after her confidence was really thrashed by a school laser focussed on league tables, and Caroline’s positive, kind, gentle but empowering approach has transformed her view of herself. Caroline has been preparing my daughter for her maths and sciences GCSE’s for a few months now and I have to say she is simply the best tutor I could have hoped for and stands grand and shoulders above any previous tutors we have used. She is so patient and explains topics in such a way that my daughter understands what is required and my daughter isn’t scared to ask questions, which is so important. We are so pleased to have found Caroline and are feeling a lot more confident going forward as the GCSE’s get nearer . My daughter never complains about her upcoming lesson with Caroline and only speaks positively about her which speaks volumes. We have only been with Caroline for a short period but she has already established a great rapport with my daughter. Her teaching style is patient and methodical and each session has been very valuable so far.
