About
I am a qualified and experienced French and Spanish teacher and have been tutoring for several decades. I also go to private centres as an examiner to do the speaking exams each year, before marking both speaking and writing exams for a major exam board in the summer.
I have taught a wide range of students, from state and private schools, including UK and overseas students at top boarding schools, individually and in groups. I am just as determined to help a struggling student achieve a respectable pass, as to assist a higher candidate nudge their GCSE grade up to a 9 or their A Level to an A*.
I can very quickly assess the strengths of a new student and support them by focusing on key areas that will help them to gain more points in exam papers. A Higher student may need to add more complex phrases and irregular verbs to their repertoire. For a student aiming for a comfortable pass, we can cut corners, practising a narrower range of carefully chosen verbs and vocabulary lists that will get them through the required hoops. Some students come to me for last minute help before exams, others want a longer approach. Either way, tailor made, one to one tuition can move them on very quickly.
My exam experience and range of tutoring means I am well placed to support students with any of the boards. For GCSE can cover the new AQA or Edexcel GCSE as well as Edexcel or CIE IGCSE. At A Level I can do Edexcel or AQA.

I have been studying GCSE French with Mrs. since September of 2024, and in this time, I have progressed immensely and had a wonderful experience.
