About
I have a first class degree in French and German from the University of Oxford and am bi-lingual in German/English. I am a fully qualified Modern Languages teacher with a PGCE from the Oxford University Department of Education. I qualified as a secondary teacher in England, and currently teach French and German online to ages 13 to adult.
I specialise in working with adults and students aged 13+ learning outside of the formal education system. I can home school GCSE and A-level to a high standard and also work with adults to facilitate language learning for conversation, holiday and business.
I am interested in all aspects of French and German language and culture, having spent extensive periods in both countries and love exploring these in my lessons.

Samantha is a truly professional and outstanding Tutor. She was always very well prepped for lessons and prepared my daughter extremely well for her French GCSE this Summer. My daughter attained a 9 and this is due to having such a first class Tutor in Samantha and they both worked very hard together to achieve this. I Highly recommend her without hesitation.

Samatha is a genius tutor, we were so lucky to work with her! She was halping my daughter Lisa with german A level, and from predicted E we moved to writing the best essays in the class, 50 of 50! My daughter has asberger, and comunication is not easy for her especially doing online classes, but she totally loved classes with Samantha because they very very well structured, very interesting , motivating and engaging on many levels. I can not recoment Samantha's tuition more not only because she helped us pass the exams but also because my daughter now have passion for learning german and she even desided to go and study languages and university!

Knowing virtually no German when we started and after regular lessons with Samantha, I would recommend her as a tutor without reservation. Her lesson planning has been excellent, tailoring them to cover the more difficult of grammar concepts or specific areas needed for improvement, such as developing conversational or written accuracy. Moreover, the pace she set across the lessons, on the basis of my goal to reach an advanced 'C1' level of German (one level below C2 which is regarding by most European countries as near or equivalent to fluent), has been challenging and well-adapted to the good progress I feel I have made. Finally, feedback has always been honest, specific, and useful.

Samantha has had a huge task to take on, as we are in our 50's and have never learnt a language before. After three lessons we are making good progress and find Samantha to be an extremely good teacher, patient and understanding but very focused on us learning as much as we can each week and making the most of our lessons. Samantha very quickly began rebuilding our daughters confidence in both oral and written French. She was then able to improve and accelerate the understanding of more complex tenses and flexed the work programme to dovetail with school work and exam timetables. Samantha has been the perfect choice as French tutor. We have needed to learn conversational and business French so she provides very tailored lessons for myself and husband.
