About
Hello, I'm Conor, and I'm a specialist tutor in GCSE and A-Level Mathematics, Economics and Business, with over 10 years' tutoring experience alongside my career as a teacher.
I currently teach Mathematics and Economics at an OFSTED Outstanding secondary school in South London, where I have been recognised as an Outstanding teacher. Alongside my classroom teaching, I lead the Business and Economics department and oversee Economics across 20 schools within our trust, helping to shape the education of more than 1,000 students. I also train teachers across the trust, using educational research to improve teaching and learning.
Before becoming a teacher, I graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Economics and Finance before completing a Master's degree in Educational Leadership. I also worked in investment banking and corporate finance, experiences that allow me to bring real-world context into my teaching and help students understand why what they're learning actually matters.
Over the years, I've worked with students of all abilities, from those lacking confidence and needing support with the fundamentals to high-achieving students aiming for top grades and competitive university places. While every student is different, improvements of around two grades are common, and I've helped students progress from an E to an A, and from a D to a B, by focusing on genuine understanding as well as exam technique.
My tutoring style is calm, friendly and highly personalised. One of the comments I hear most often is, "It finally makes sense now!" Those moments are exactly why I love teaching. I believe that once students truly understand a topic, confidence follows naturally, and better grades soon follow. Every lesson is tailored to the individual, whether that means filling knowledge gaps, developing exam technique or stretching the most able students to reach their full potential.
Above all, I want my students to enjoy learning, feel confident asking questions and leave every lesson understanding a little more than when they arrived. If I can help them achieve excellent grades along the way, which is always the goal, then that's even better.

She was lacking in confidence with some key microeconomic concepts but his friendly, calm and encouraging approach has really helped her to improve. Would highly recommend Conor as a tutor. Conor has been extremely helpful for my son Benji and he has helped him come on leaps and bounds with Economics. My son was struggling in particular with microeconomics. Conor was very quick at getting back to us, and Benji was making immediate improvements in his understanding and helped him go up several grade boundaries.
