I have been teaching Geography, Geology and Environmental Science at GCSE and A-Level standard for over 30 years. I am now a professional, full time private tutor with my own business. I am also an Examiner and Moderator for Geography, a role I have done for over 25 years. I teach online using the Teams platform. I have BSc, MSc and PGCE from the University of London.
I currently provide online private tuition to UK and international students and their families from multiple countries, across all time zones! About 70% are UK based and the remainder in the EU, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas. I have 5* reviews from over 200 satisfied clients whom I have supported through various tutoring platforms.
I was a Head of Geography and then a senior manager at a successful Sixth Form College in London. I am currently an Examiner and Moderator for Edexcel in Geography and EPQ Diploma Dissertation and have been an examiner for Geology. I was also an Examiner for Geography for AQA, CIE (OCR) and the WJEC. I am also a keen historian, specialising in 20th Century history.

After two lessons I have found Gary to be well organised and knowledgeable in his field of expertise, making it both easy and interesting to restudy geography under him. Outside lessons I am sent useful study materials that is related to the topics covered, and this has also served as a useful reminder to homework set. As an international student studying overseas, I have no other means of getting help with my A Level Geography retakes and so, Gary is definitely a great help. Thank you.

During my gap year I applied to Oxford University, I therefore had Gary as a weekly tutor to help me prepare for my interview while I was not in full time education. As Gary and I did not live that close to each other, we decided to have the tutorials over skype. This worked very well. I found Gary very professional and organised. He would always send me articles to read during the week that we could discuss during the tutorials. He is very good at looking at a range of topics, and his knowledge of Geography is far beyond text book, making him an interesting and insightful tutor. Having had Gary tutor me for 6 weeks, I had my interview and was given a place at Oxford. Although I also did my own revision on top of my tutorials, I feel Gary gave me the confidence and experience to discuss Geography interlectually and helped me to look at certain issues with a more dynamic perspective. I would recommend Gary to any student who is interested in Geography!

My 17 year old son has been highly impressed with the standard of tuition he has received from Gary over the past 3 months; each tutorial session has clearly been carefully considered beforehand and tailored to meet my son’s individual needs. Gary is a very experienced, effective, and genial tutor and he clearly has a thorough understanding of the Geography curriculum, and the demands of different “A” Level syllabuses. The pre-session preparation of materials and post-session delivery of study materials is also excellent. Although we live some distance away from Fulham, these journey’s have been very worthwhile.

The online tuition which Gary is doing via skype is working extremely well. My daughter is doing resits for AS level and ongoing A level work and we have been impressed with how quickly Gary has assessed her needs and provided information to fill the gaps in her knowledge.His subject knowledge is excellent and he has been able to provided resources to test progress. Someone who is enthusiastic about General Studies! My son struggles to understand how questions should be answered in any subject but General Studies has really got him, until Gary's enthusiasm and thoroughness have inspired him. I cannot express how amazing Gary was with my son. He had struggled with his Geography A level syllabus and from the first lesson with Gary my son said he was amazing.
