About
With 21 years' experience, I love tutoring children and also have two children of my own. For 10 years I worked in two local independent schools where a large part of my role was preparing children for 11+ exams and common entrance exams. I have an excellent track record for great results and exam passes. Children respond well to my calm, steady approach and I am reliable and a good communicator. I aim to build confidence and enjoyment of the subject through a scaffolded approach that takes account of the child's current learning level to build swiftly and effectively on current knowledge and skills, achieving the best progress possible for each learner. Lesson content is always personalised to each pupil and where it is useful we use multisensory methods to maximise learning. I have a very good track record for working well with SEN children, children with gaps in their learning and with high achieving children enjoying an extra boost.

Tania has done a marvellous job of tutoring two of our children, aged 11 and 9. She successfully prepared them for entrance exams, at which they performed excellently. She also gave them more general tutoring in maths and English, which has helped them both improve their understanding and the level at which they are working in school. As well as an effective tutor, Tania is a really lovely person to have around, a real joy to work with, and we will all miss her. We will be contacting her again for any future tutoring requirements.
