Personal Description:

Hi, I'm Kate and I have 30 years' experience as a secondary school language teacher. I teach all levels up to A Level and have taught at 3rd level also. Fully qualified : M.Sc. B.A. (Hons.) H. Dip. Garda vetted, Teaching Council registered.

Experienced in UK and Irish schools.

I can offer online lessons via Zoom, or face-to-face if you prefer.

Tutoring Experience:

Second level school teacher up to A Level since 1993. German, French and Spanish for 30 years.

Approach to Grinds:

Every student is different, so I listen to you and assess your areas of concern, before preparing with you a strategy to get you the best grade possible. The most important factor which affects outcomes is motivation, so if a student is motivated, I will go the extra mile to help.

From Aoife (5/5): GSCE Kate has given grinds in French to my daughter and in German to my son. She has helped them both enormously. In fact my son won an excellence in German his end ot year awards this year.
Kate has great knowledge of what students need for their exams. My kids really enjoy working with her. Definitely recommend

From Hilary (5/5) A Level We used Kate to help stay on top of leaving cert German and keep my daughter at a high standard. She gave her that extra confidence to handle her oral, in fact her examiner asked her if she had German speaking parents at home! :) She also gave her that little extra push and helped prepare her well for the written exam. We couldn't recommend her enough.

She managed in a very short period of time to help gain his confidence back and understand some fundamental grammar and verbs necessary for constructing simple sentences. He has done very well since returning to school in his German class and has expressed interest in continuing to take classes with Katie during his holidays!

From Rory (5/5): (Junior Cycle Spanish) Kate has been tutoring my 14 year old in Spanish for the last 6 weeks and she is already making a difference. He is much more confident about Spanish and because of his increased learning he is actually enjoying the subject. Kate is excellent at understanding what Shane needs in terms of tutoring so that for him the 1hr a week is something he looks forward to. I would highly recommend Kate for Language Tutoring.
