About
I am a fully qualified teacher who taught geography at schools in the south west for 11 years. I have spent the last 8 years tutoring a large number of students at GCSE and A Level successfully. I am able to provide additional support to school lessons as well as teach full course content for students needing to review whole topics or courses. I also teach home schooled students at KS3 and GCSE, tailoring lessons to individual needs but also preparing them for exams and further study.
I am friendly and patient and quickly get to know my students and their preferred learning style. I have experience of working with a broad spectrum of students and pride myself on being able to get the best from all students I work with; whether this is pushing for a certain grade, help with understanding core concepts or building curiosity in geography. I really enjoy working with young people and helping them to achieve their best.
I have extensive knowledge and understanding of many specifications at both GCSE and A Level (including AQA, Edexcel and OCR). My geographical knowledge, teaching style and familiarity with exam questions and answer structure allows my students to achieve highly. Some of my students have increased their exam grade by 3 grades after studying with me. I am also an exam marker at GCSE which helps me be a great geography teacher. As well as exam knowledge and course content I am also a very creative and passionate geographer and plan engaging lessons tailored to the student's needs.
I believe that confidence is key to success and I work with all my students to build their confidence in the subject. I do this through well planned lessons, plenty of exam practice and clear communication about where the student is currently and what we will work on to allow them to achieve their potential.

Jenny has been an amazing tutor in supporting my daughter with her Geogrpahy A level. Frankie found Jenny easy to talk to and therefore felt comfortable and engaged in all her sessions. She has been excellent at finding extra resources and case studies, and always encouraged Frankie to send her questions/papers to mark and provide constructive feedback - even in the evening the night before an exam. She also kept in touch with me, providing regular reports of how Frankie was doing in her sessions and also included me with any correspondence between them. We would highly recommend Jenny and feel we were really lucky to find her.

Jenny has supported my daughter during her final year of A levels. Over the year my daughter’s knowledge and confidence has grown lots. Jenny has really helped her understand what the examiners are looking for and how best to formulate an answer. My daughter has looked forward to her weekly sessions with Jenny and I’ve no doubt, that’s directly related to Jenny’s patient and gentle supportive style. I cannot thank Jenny enough for the help that she has provided to my son Ben with this A' level Geography. He started work with Jenny after his first mock and by the time of his next mock he had jumped 3 grades!! His confidence, knowledge and motivatioon improved significantly. Jenny has been a fantastic tutor, helping me prepare for my Geography Edexcel A-Level exams. From day 1, Jenny was friendly and approachable and I was immediately comfortable and relaxed working with her. Our first session was about understanding my needs and assessing my current situation and then planning a program for the road ahead. Subsequent lessons really helped to build my subject/topic knowledge and application as well as my confidence. Jenny helped me with fully understanding the exam structure/questions in terms of what the examiner is looking for, which has helped me with applying the subject knowledge appropriately. During our program, Jenny regularly checked in with me to assess my progress and evolve our plan as necessary. It has been really great being tutored by Jenny and I feel far happier about the exams now. Thank you so much for your help. Fingers crossed for the results in August. UPDATE : I had been predicted a B grade but was achieving much lower in my mocks. With Jenny’s guidance, coaching and support I attained the B in the final exams and achieved the required grades to be accepted to my first choice university.

We initially contacted Jenny to help my son retake his Geography exam as we felt that the teachers predicted grade that he was given was unjust. As the teachers predicted grades came out in August and the A-Level retake exams were in October, my son had very little time to do a lot of catch up. Jenny has been an amazing teacher planning each lesson very carefully to maximise the little time that we had. She is very easy to talk to and communicates very well. Initially my son was a bit hesitant doing the lessons over Zoom, but this worked exceptionally well. We would definitely recommend Jenny to anyone looking for a great Geography teacher.

Jenny is an excellent tutor. She provided tutoring for 'A' level Geography for my daughter, who had previously been let down by the teaching quality from her school. She is able to adjust her tutoring to meet the requirements of different exam boards and very quickly understood the gaps in my daughter's knowledge. The lessons involved discussions, which allowed for new ideas to be developed and understood. These were then confirmed by completing past paper questions, which consolidated knowledge further. Jenny also set homework, but she was also considerate of busy schedules. Any homework was marked promptly. Above all, Jenny brought the fun back into Geography 'A' level and my daughter always enjoyed her weekly lesson. Thanks Jenny
